Brazilian Butt Lift

A Brazilian butt lift (BBL) enhances the buttocks by transferring fat from areas like the abdomen, thighs, or hips. The procedure involves liposuction to remove fat, purifying it, and then injecting it into the buttocks to add volume and shape. This creates a fuller, more contoured backside and eliminates stubborn fat that diet and exercise haven't addressed.

About Brazilian Butt Lift

Ideal candidates are at a healthy weight, have enough excess fat for grafting, and are looking to enhance the shape and volume of their buttocks. It's popular for those seeking a more sculpted and balanced body shape.

Ideal candidate

Healthy adults with enough donor fat for grafting who want more projection and shape rather than simply a larger size, and who can avoid direct sitting during early healing.

Benefits

  • Adds natural volume using your own fat
  • Slims the waist, back and flanks in the same session
  • Creates a rounder, lifted, proportionate shape
  • No implants and no synthetic filler
  • Small, well-hidden liposuction incisions
  • Long-lasting once the grafted fat settles

What to expect during recovery

  1. 01

    Days 1–3

Sleep on your stomach or side and avoid sitting directly on the buttocks. Compression garment worn continuously.

  2. 02

    Week 1

Short walks are encouraged; a BBL pillow allows brief seated time.

  3. 03

    Weeks 2–4

Swelling in the donor areas begins to resolve and light activity resumes.

  4. 04

    6 Weeks +

Normal sitting and full exercise resume. Final shape settles at 3–6 months.

Frequently asked questions

How much of the transferred fat survives?

Typically 60–80% of the grafted fat establishes a blood supply and stays permanently. The rest is reabsorbed in the first few months.

How long must I avoid sitting?

Direct sitting is limited for about two weeks; a BBL pillow is used for several weeks after that.

Am I a candidate if I am very slim?

You need a reasonable amount of donor fat. If there isn't enough, Dr. Espinoza will discuss alternatives during your consultation.

Is the result permanent?

Yes — surviving fat cells are your own. Significant weight changes will still affect the shape.
