What is Neck Liposuction?

How is Neck Liposuction Performed?

For your neck liposuction procedure, you will be given local anesthesia and a sedative to ensure you remain comfortable during your surgery. Your surgeon will then make small incisions along the area of the neck. These are thoughtfully placed to ensure any scars are well-concealed. The number of incisions and their placement will depend on the extent of the fat being removed.

The surgeon will then insert the cannula — a long thin tube connected to a vacuum. This allows them to remove the fat and create contours. Once the fat has been removed, the incisions are closed using sutures, and the area will be dressed using bandages and a compression garment.

Once the procedure is complete, your recovery will be monitored for a few hours before you return home. While at home you should rest and avoid strenuous activities. Most patients spend a week recovering at home before resuming regular social engagements or work. You may experience some bruising and swelling during this time, which can last for ten days or more. The compression garment will also help decrease swelling.
