J-Plasma Renuvion
Skin Rejuvenation
As we age, we can start to experience pockets of loose, sagging skin across the face and body. When the skin has lost its elasticity, it can become lax and begin to droop. Unfortunately, there were few options available short of surgery to address lax skin until now. J-Plasma Renuvion is a minimally-invasive procedure that can tighten skin across the neck, arms, and thighs.
J-Plasma Renuvion®’s advanced technology uses cold plasma to tighten and rejuvenate the skin. This works as a stand-alone procedure or can be combined with other services such as liposuction to tighten the skin and reduce excess fat. Dr. Espinoza is one of the few plastic surgeons in New York City to offer this revolutionary procedure, contact our office to schedule your consultation.
What Is J-Plasma Technology?
Cold plasma is created by energizing helium gas with radiofrequency energy. Helium is a very stable gas and can be safely ionized. Cold plasma tightens the skin by promoting contraction and the production of new collagen. The J-Plasma Renuvion® device can deliver this rejuvenation directed to targeted areas to help enhance your natural contours.
This method of treatment is non-surgical, only requiring small incisions. This results in faster recovery, minimal tissue damage, and more immediate results.
Where Can
J-Plasma Be Used?
J-Plasma Renuvion can be used on almost any area of the body, including the face. Some of the most commonly treated areas include:
- VAbdomen
- VArmpits
- VArms
- VBack
- VBreasts
- VButtocks
- VFace
- VFlanks
- VKnees
- VThighs
J-Plasma Renuvion can also be used on areas where cellulite is present to help lift and firm the skin.
How the Renuvion Procedure Is Performed
The procedure can be performed while you are awake and comfortable with just a local anesthetic, or you may be asleep if your doctor thinks that’s necessary. Dr. Espinoza will then make small incisions near the treatment area to insert the probe.
Each incision will be 5mm in diameter, which is smaller than the size of a dime. The J-Plasma Renuvion probe will be moved inside the incisions to target the underlying tissue. The treatment takes about one hour per area.
Who Is a Candidate for
J-Plasma Skin Rejuvenation
J-Plasma Renuvion works best for those with mild to moderate loose skin. This may be caused by age, weight loss, or pregnancy. For those with more advanced skin laxity, a combination of procedures may be more beneficial. During your consultation, Dr. Espinoza can determine if you would be an ideal candidate for treatment.
J-Plasma Renuvion Recovery
Once the procedure is complete, patients can recover at their homes. You may experience some initial tightness and pain. Pain can be managed using over-the-counter pain medication. You will be asked to wear a compression garment for the first 72 hours after the procedure is complete, and bruising and swelling may last 1 to 2 weeks. Because this is a minimally invasive procedure patients can return to work and other normal activities the following day.
Your Results
You will be able to see some results from J-Plasma Renuvion immediately following your procedure. Because of swelling and bruising some results may be more difficult to see, but this should fade after 1-2 weeks. Your final results will be visible 3 to 6 months after your procedure.
